Ramechhap: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shashank Koirala has stressed the importance of unity within the party to advance the cause of nation-building. Speaking at an event organized by the NC in Ramechhap on the 110th birth anniversary of BP Koirala, Dr. Koirala acknowledged that internal divisions have weakened the party but emphasized the need to contest elections independently.

He stated, "The NC is a fine political party based on its ideology, and all its leaders and members should be committed to implementing that ideology. I firmly believe that no force can defeat the NC if it remains united on the basis of its ideology."

Regarding his potential candidacy for the presidency in the upcoming 15th general convention, Dr. Koirala indicated that he would consider it if party members recognized his value.

Dr. Koirala also expressed concern about the increasing trend of political disputes being taken to the Supreme Court, emphasizing the need for political parties to find solutions through dialogue rather than relying on the judiciary.

He further advocated for religious freedom in the country, stating that he supports the principle of religious freedom.
